The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolhapur Local Centre is an active professional centre serving engineers and students across Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, and nearby regions. The centre operates from Sinchan Bhavan, Tarabai Park, Kolhapur and serves as a vibrant platform for technical learning, innovation, and professional interaction.

Library :
About 500 books periodicals, journals, on various engineering subjects are available in Centre’s Library. The members can avail of the facilities of the Library by reference, reading the books, handbooks, periodicals by borrow the books for home reading on payments of deposit and subscription.

There is Information cell at the center office, for the student who wants to take admission for AMIE course, can visit the center office & get information about AMIE course & Examination. The forms for AMIE examination, Membership enrollment form can get availed free of cost from the center. Those students due to some reason (Less Mark, Very huge fees, sound financial position etc) not able to get complete Engineering from Universities, they can do their engineering graduation After completion of AMIE course Externally,
That is they can complete section A & B examination from IEI & complete the course AMIE (Associated member of Institute Engineers), this is equivalent to Bachelor of Engineering of any university, It is recognized by Central, State government Education department, UPSC, MPSC etc. Details of course are,

2) You have to be member in Senior Technical category (3 year diploma after 10th) - Study material: – Is given by the Institution, at Kolhapur local center Library is available

There are total 65 Examination centers in India, nearer to Kolhapur local center are Pune, Belapur, Mumbai.
Engineer’s day celebration
- Every year on 15th September Engineer’s day is celebrated by the local center.
- Awards for best engineers within the judicial of Kolhapur local centers are given.
- The Top ranker students of all engineering Discipline in Shivaji University & department of Technology are felicities on this day.
- On this day, Expert speaker lecture on the theme given by the IEI head quarter is arranged.

Lecture on Opportunities in engineering education & Centralized Admission process
For the members of Kolhapur local center, student’s, for the citizen of Kolhapur, the lecture on “Opportunities in engineering education & Centralized Admission process“.
Is arranged after the result of Common entrance test result (JET), tentatively in the month of May or June of every year. There are various other program like Energy conservation one day seminar, world water day celebrations are arranged By the center, this year center has arranged National seminar on Innovative approaches for low cost treatment of water & Wastewater in which one separate session on Problems related about treatment of water & Wastewater is arranged in which discussions on Pollution of River Punchahgaga & Rankala lake is arranged.
